Switzerland's great choice of accommodation - from bed & breakfasts to world-class 5-star hotels

Switzerland offers a fabulous range of accommodation types that we can book for you, which enables you to create a variety of holiday experiences.

Of course, in its great cities, such as Zurich, Geneva, Bern and Basel, there are excellent hotels to match, with a couple of the ‘money no object classics’ being Baur au Lac in Zurich or Le Richemond in Geneva – which would comfortably fit into any list of Europe’s finest hotels. However, you don’t have to stay in a beautiful 5-star property to get outstanding service and quality. Hotels across the star-rating range are proud to demonstrate their passion for offering their guests traditional Swiss hospitality and legendary standards of service.

Although the choice of hotels is enormous, it is really at the level of smaller family-run hotels that Switzerland truly excels. They are more traditional in their style of accommodation – often with a history going back many centuries, and are often still being run today by the same families that built the original property many generations before. They provide comfortable and great value accommodation, and will normally have their own restaurants where the food is as traditional and delicious as the surroundings.

If there is a style of accommodation that is even more common, and offers even more variety it is the ubiquitous ‘bed and breakfasts’, or private houses. These range in size from having one or two guest bedrooms where you have a great opportunity to get to know the families that own them to larger properties with up to ten rooms. The prices are extremely competitive, the quality of the rooms normally excellent, and many houses now offer other facilities, including a shared sauna, and even swimming pools. Whilst many are in and around the centre of the villages, many offer spectacular locations and mountain views.

Other popular styles of accommodation include holiday apartments and homes - where you cater for yourselves, or at the other end of the spectrum, a number of UK tour operators offer their own ‘chalet’-style accommodation during the winter seasons in resorts such as Verbier, where meals and drinks are often included in the prices.
